The MSI MAG 27C6X is a new mid-range gaming monitor underpinned by a fast VA panel. Not only does the new gaming monitor offer a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, but it also operates natively at 250 Hz with 1 ms response times too
MSI has decided to release yet another 27-inch gaming monitor, having introduced half a dozen examples already this year. Most recently, it unveiled the MAG 274URFW, a 4K and 160 Hz example that it finished in white. This time, it has delivered the MAG 27C6X, a faster but lower resolution alternative of sorts.
Specifically, the MAG 27C6X outputs at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, also known as 1080p or FHD. MSI’s product page shows that the MAG 27C6X also runs natively at 240 Hz with 1 ms MPRT response times. However, the monitor can also be overclocked to 250 Hz as necessary. Moreover, MSI has included adaptive synchronisation and AI picture enhancement technologies.
Furthermore, the MAG 27C6X relies on VA technology, which ensures a decent contrast ratio at the expense of colour accuracy. In this case, the 1500R curved monitor delivers a 3,000:1 contrast ratio but only 77% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. On top of that, the 10-bit panel should provide 250 nits peak brightness. Accordingly, the monitor has no HDR support to speak of. For now, MSI has priced the MAG 27C6X at $169; (rupees 14,900 + gst 17,600) the company has not confirmed pricing or availability for other markets yet, though.
