Nothing Phone 2a: Latest Leaks and Certification Details

Nothing, the innovative tech company, is gearing up for the debut of the Nothing Phone 2a, anticipated to be the midrange version of the Phone 2. Expected to make its first appearance at the end of February, this smartphone stands out as Nothing’s initial venture featuring a MediaTek chipset. Leaks from various sources have already provided insights into the phone’s design, specifications, and color options.

Recent findings on the TUV certification site, with the model number A142, have further shed light on the charging specifications of the purported Nothing Phone 2a. According to a discovery by 91Mobiles, the smartphone is set to support 45W charging, aligning with the capabilities of the Nothing Phone 2. However, the confirmation of wireless charging support is still pending verification, as Gadgets 360 was unable to corroborate this information.

Additionally, the TUV certification listing discloses that the Nothing Phone 2a will adopt the USB Power Delivery (PD) standard for charging. This suggests compatibility with any USB PD charger, a move away from proprietary charging protocols.

In line with previous leaks, the Nothing Phone 2a is rumored to run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 processor, offering up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The device is expected to feature a 6.7-inch full-HD AMOLED screen boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and running on Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.5 out-of-the-box.

Photography enthusiasts may find interest in the dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The front camera is speculated to be a 16-megapixel lens.

Nothing’s CEO, Carl Pei, has hinted at the imminent debut of the Nothing Phone 2a, suggesting a possible unveiling at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC 2024). While the official announcement is yet to be made, leaks indicate a scheduled event on February 27, where the affordable smartphone could take center stage. Stay tuned for more updates on Nothing’s latest innovation!
